The aim of the Helping Hand podcast is to inform parents about the range of therapies and therapists available to help them when their children are struggling with social, emotional, or educational difficulties. When I was in this position years ago, I did not even know the words to use to find the help I needed. I hope that by collecting this information together on one website, and by doing regular therapist interviews on a podcast I can spread the word and help people find the right therapy, and therapist, for them in their time of need.

Tara McDonald is a Child and Family Therapist, working in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire with The Owl Centre (https://theowltherapycentre.co.uk/). Tara originally trained as an Adult Counsellor and Psychotherapist over 20 years ago, moving to work with children and their families in 2009. As well as being a qualified adult therapist, she is an Accredited Play Therapist, certified Creative Arts Supervisor, Theraplay Practitioner and a Certified Filial Play Coach. Tara is also the co-Director of PIP Solutions, which focuses on offering training professionals who care about children's mental health'
